BY RYAN ROBINSON, Staff Writer

A reward is being offered for information about the archer who shot a cat outside the animal's Bainbridge home Dec. 22.

Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers is featuring the animal cruelty case as its Crime of the Week and is offering up to $1,000 for helpful tips, city police Sgt. Bill Hickey said Monday.

The cat, named Mack, got a lot of attention when Susquehanna Regional police released shocking photographs of the steel-gray feline with the arrow sticking completely through its head. The cat survived after being shot around 11:25 p.m. outside a home in the 300 block of Walnut Street, police previously reported.

Witnesses reported seeing a silhouette of a person standing in the rear yard of Mack's residence, police said. The person then ran toward North Second Street.

Susquehanna Regional police ask anyone with information to contact them at 426-1164. Tipsters also can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913 or anonymously text LANCS plus a message to 847411 (TIP411).
