The party was hosted by the couple’s children.
Nelson and Stella were married on April 12, 1936 in the Cresswell Evangelical Congregational Church by the late Rev. Earl D. Ehrig.
Nelson is the former owner of Manning’s Sporting Goods in Columbia and is retired from the Warwick School District.
Stella Manning, the former Stella Smith, is retired from the Hamilton Watch Company.
The Mannings are the proud parents of Doris, wife of Edward Otto, Farmington, Conn.; Dolores, wife of William Thomas, Colby, Wis.; and LaVon, wife of John Harnish, Lancaster.
They have been blessed with seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Nelson appreciates quiet time for reading, and, at age 92, still enjoys deer and small game hunting as well as fishing.
Stella enjoys needlework, cooking, letter-writing and shopping.
Both Nelson and Stella have always looked forward to trips to their cabin in Sullivan County. They are also active members of Trinity E.C. Church in Lititz.
