Brett Miller: I’ll continue to make case to GOP in 41st

In an interview this morning, Warwick Middle School guidance counselor and East Hempfield Township Supervisor Brett Miller said he expects to pick up more support among the 65 committee people in retiring Rep. Katie True‘s House district before the county GOP’s Feb. 16 endorsement convention. As we wrote earlier, Lancaster County Clerk of Courts Ryan Aument won the first and only straw poll of Republican committee people in the 41st Thursday night. The results — Aument got 31 votes and Miller got 23 — reaffirmed Aument’s position as the frontrunner for the GOP’s endorsement for retiring state Rep. Katie True’s House seat.

Said Miller: “Ryan is a very good opponent and very worthy opponent, and I’m not surprised he did well. I would keep in mind that I’ve been in the race for only a few weeks, and I’m still making my case to the committee people. The straw poll vote was an early gauge, and a lot can change between now and the endorsement convention. I’m going to be continuing to make my case to the committee people, and I believe I will see some additional support come in.”
