This week, at long last, is a Penn State game week. No more previews.
For the next 12 such weeks, LNP will offer the following:
A story from Bill O’Brien’s weekly press conference in Wednesday’s paper.
In Friday’s paper, an advance package with a story/feature plus a graphic. OK, an advance is very much like a preview.
In Sunday’s paper after home games (and Saturday’s Syracuse game) we’ll have a column, Highs and Lows and grades from your correspondent, and a game story from friend of BPR Gordie Jones. For road games, I’ll write the game story.
That will be followed by a post-mortem piece, in Monday’s paper, on the previous Saturday’s game.
We’ll try to have more of a social-media presence, but I’ve said that before. I’ll try to Tweet during games, and send out a hashtag for folks to follow along at each game. Again, though, this is hard to do in the context of everything else.
This Tuesday, we’ll do something Penn State-ish for the Low Post, especially since O’Brien seems likely to name his starting QB at that day’s presser. Also, Gordie, Starkie and I are doing a Penn State podcast Tuesday, which you’ll be able to find on Lancasteronline.com.
Yes, this is pretty much exactly what we’ve done in the recent past. One difference: Sunday News readers may recall the Penn State Extra, a four-page wrap around the sports section. That’s coming back. It means more weekly info on the Big Ten and next week’s opponent and more impressive visual presentation, including many more photos from Ruppie.
I’m ready. Pin back your ears and get to knockin’.
