Here’s what’s going on this week:
Adam Taliaferro is doing a speaking gig in town today, so we’ll be talking to him for a column this afternoon. He is, of course, a member of the PSU board of trustees.
I’m planning a piece for the web site on this odd affair regarding Penn State’s 2013-14 schedule, dropping Virginia, apparently in lieu of Central Florida, and how it might tie in to Big Ten expansion.
In Sunday’s paper, a feature on NaVorro Bowman, the annual page A1, Super Bowl-in-cultural-context column, and live coverage of Saturday’s F&M-Muhlenberg hoops.
Next Wednesday, Feb. 6, is National Signing Day, which is a big deal for Penn State and for local athletes in all fall sports. We’re planning a pretty big print/web/social media splash…

The column on the NCAA in Sunday’s paper was mentioned by Jay Bilas of ESPN on Twitter:
Article comparing the credibility of the NCAA to that of Lindsay Lohan: http://bit.ly/X1D53Y Lohan will find that quite insulting.”
That led to several others re-Tweeting and, I hope, many hits for Lancasteronline. Always liked that Bilas dude…
Speaking on the NCAA, the legal stuff is already starting to hit the fan.
I don’t cry often, but teared up both times I watched Bob Costas’ eulogy for Stan Musial. Just perfect.
Austerity is already killing growth. So of course what we need, according to GOP, is more austerity. Why Obama doesn’t go on TV, every day if necessary, and scream about this, is beyond my comprehension.
