The Lancaster County district attorney announced criminal charges against the owner of the Gundel Funeral Home this afternoon. District Attorney Craig Stedman said Benjamin M. Siar Jr. is being charged with four counts of abuse of a corpse and four counts of theft by deception.
Law-enforcers obtained a search warrant Thursday and scoured the property at 3225 Main St. through the night and into the morning. Stedman said detectives found decomposing bodies in the basement of the funeral home, including that of a 2-year-old girl, Ranasia A. R. Knight, who police say was beated to death earlier this year.
