Police have charged two 20-year-old Lititz men with DUI and racing on highways after one of their vehicles crashed Dec. 24.
Benjamin L. Champion, of Royal Drive, and Justin J. Witek, of Crosswinds Drive, were also charged with underage drinking after the 2:48 a.m. wreck, Lititz police reported Monday.
An officer saw the two racing each other through the 400 to 700 blocks of South Broad Street (Route 501) before Champion crashed into a telephone pole in the 700 block.
Champion and a passenger in his vehicle, Brittany Biddison, 23, of Lebanon, were transported to the hospital after the accident, police said.
Champion suffered severe injuries and was in the hospital for three or four days. Biddison incurred minor injuries and was in the hospital for one day, police said.
