Amtrak workers and investigators walked along the rail line behind Park City Center Thursday after a 19-year-old girl was injured while taking photographs along the tracks.

Police are uncertain if the girl was struck by eastbound train No. 42, the Pennsylvanian, or if she fell and was injured trying to avoid the train.

The girl, whom police did not identify, suffered a laceration to the head and was taken to Lancaster General Hospital after being lifted from the rail bed to the Plaza Boulevard bridge via ropes and a Stokes basket.

An Amtrak spokeswoman said the girl was in critical condition.

Train 42 was delayed about 1 hour and 25 minutes, and other commuter trains along the line were also delayed.
