A Millersville man is headed to trial for an alleged series of inappropriate contacts with a teenage girl that were caught on a hidden camera.

Leon Charles Tadych's alleged crimes were discovered when police installed a video camera in Tadych's home in November, according to court documents.

The 14-year-old victim also disclosed to police other sex acts not on the video recordings, according to the documents.

Police installed the camera after Tadych's wife said she was suspicious of her husband's late-night behavior, the documents show.

On Friday, a local district judge ordered Tadych, 48, be tried on numerous felony counts of sexual assault and corruption of minors.

The victim testified of the assaults, along with a police sergeant who installed the camera and viewed the recordings, which showed inappropriate touching.

Ultimately, District Judge Joshua Keller ruled that enough evidence was presented to move the charges to Lancaster County court. Tadych likely will be tried later this year.

Keller also set a series of conditions, including one order that bars Tadych from discussing his case with his family. Assistant District Attorney James Reeder argued that those relatives could be trial witnesses.

Tadych, locked up on $375,000 bail, also was ordered not to have contact with the victim.

The crimes allegedly happened over a two-week period at a home in the 100 block of North Duke Street.

Tadych, if convicted, faces maximum prison penalties that would span his life.

The investigation started in July when police encountered two girls — one being the teenager — at a Millersville apartment, an affidavit shows.

The girls told police that they were being chased by Tadych, who was in a pickup truck. Tadych was trying to bring the girls back to his house after they left when a family argument took place, police were told.

Upon further questioning, the girls told police that Tadych had "a crush" and was "in love" with the teen, the affidavit shows.

Three months later, Mrs. Tadych showed up at the Millersville police station in tears.

"Leon did tell her that he was in love with (the teen)," police were told, according to the affidavit.

Mrs. Tadych said the girl often slept over at her house on a living room couch. Mrs. Tadych said she had found her husband on the couch with the girl late at night.
