Millersville University trustees will try again Friday to decide which candidates to recommend as the university's new president.
The board of trustees met Monday but was unable to reach consensus on which of the six candidates in the running for the president's post to recommend to replace Francine McNairy.
McNairy plans to retire in January after nine years as president.
The board of trustees is scheduled to meet again at 5 p.m. Friday in Gordinier Hall to reconsider the recommendation.
According to the search process, the trustees must recommend at least three candidates to the board of governors of the State System of Higher Education, which will make the final decision on the appointment.
MU spokeswoman Janet Kacskos said the trustees did not reach a decision Monday because they requested more information about the candidates.
The six candidates all have visited the campus in recent weeks to meet with trustees, university faculty, administrators and students.
They are:
• John Anderson, president of Alfred State College, Alfred, N.Y.
• Kent Neely, provost and vice president of academic affairs, Western Oregon University, Monmouth, Ore.
• Soraya Coley, interim vice president for university development and provost/vice president for academic affairs, California State University, Bakersfield, Calif.
• Anne Huot, provost and vice president of academic affairs, the College at Brockport, State University of New York, Brockport, N.Y.
• David Arnold, president and professor of psychology at Eureka College, Eureka, Ill.
• Dr. Vilas Prabhu, MU provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Friday's meeting will be held in the University Room of Gordinier Hall.
