A former Franklin & Marshall College student has been charged with sexually assaulting another student while she was unconscious last month at her off-campus apartment, according to police.

Robert C. Mundy, 22, is charged with six offenses stemming from the incident that allegedly happened early in the morning of Sept. 14.

The alleged victim, a 21-year-old student, told police she was assaulted by Mundy in her apartment in the Campus Crossing at College Row complex in the 700 block of Harrisburg Avenue. The apartment complex is leased by the college.

The woman told police she had been drinking and passed out, according to an arrest affidavit. When she woke up, Mundy was on top of her, fondling her, according to the affidavit.

Mundy, a senior from Plattsburgh, N.Y., is free after a local bondsman posted $150,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 27 on two counts of felony aggravated indecent assault of an unconscious person and related charges.

A man who answered the phone at Mundy's parents' Plattsburgh home said, "There's no comment," and hung up.

Julia Ferrante, director of media relations at F&M, said Tuesday that Mundy is no longer enrolled as a student.

In an interview with Robert Godin, an assistant dean of students, Mundy admitted to touching the woman inappropriately, according to the affidavit.

Police became involved on the afternoon of Sept. 14 when a woman arrived at Lancaster General Hospital and reported being raped.

In a police interview, the woman said she had "several drinks" with seven or eight F&M students — including Mundy — the night before at a bar on North Prince Street, according to the affidavit.

The woman told police she had left her drink unattended and, some time later, suddenly passed out.

"After several drinks at the bar, (she) became unconscious and unaware," city police Detective Aaron Harnish wrote in the affidavit.
