Honors, awards convocation at MU this week

Millersville University of Pennsylvania will host its 2012 Honors and Awards Convocation on April 28. Faculty, students and alumni will be recognized for their accomplishments and dedication to the University.

During the ceremony, nearly 900 students will be recognized with awards and scholarships for their academic accomplishments including impressive grade-point-averages, departmental awards for excellence in an academic major, community involvement and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference scholar athletes.

In addition, the Millersville University Alumni Association will be honoring retired faculty and alumni through the distribution of three awards. Patricia DeGrandis Doll, of Lancaster, has been named the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient; Dr. George F. Stine, of Lancaster, has been named the 2012 Honorary Alumni Award recipient; and William Martin, of Lititz, has been named the 2012 Outstanding Volunteer Service Award recipient.

The 2012 Honors and Awards Convocation will be held on campus in Marauder Court, located in the Student Memorial Center, at 10 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the alumni services office at 872-3352.
