Rino's Pizza has opened at 1711 Lebanon Road, Manheim, in the former home of Papa Dino's Pub & Eatery.

The new restaurant is owned by Marisa Conigliaro and her husband, Gaspare "Rino" Gelardi, who also own Two Cousins Pizza in Manheim. The couple oversaw some renovations to the restaurant in the village of Elstonville, work that created a more open area where there previously had been dividing walls, Conigliaro said.

The menu will feature pizza, subs and pasta as well as ribs and bolis. The 2,500-square-foot restaurant has seating for about 65 people and has some 10 employees.

Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday. Phone: 665-0606.

Pita Pit for E-town

A Pita Pit is slated to open in late May in Elizabethtown. The restaurant, which features Lebanese-style pitas, will be located at 28 S. Market St. in part of the former Elizabethtown Hotel. The roughly 1,300-square-foot space currently is being renovated.

The Pita Pit is a franchise that began in Canada in 1995 and now has some 350 restaurants in Canada and the United States. The Elizabethtown Pita Pit will be owned by Brad Alexander and Nathan Groff, who opened a Lancaster restaurant at 398 Harrisburg Ave. in September 2010 and also now have one in Harrisburg at 100 N. Second St.

The Pita Pit's menu has sandwiches with a number of meat and vegetable fillings and a variety of toppings, including souvlaki, gyros and falafel sandwiches. It also offers salads and smoothies.

College Row update

A new coffee shop is still pending at College Row as a restaurant along the retail strip at Franklin & Marshall College has closed.

WOW Café & Wingery, which opened in March 2009 at 721 Harrisburg Pike, closed last month. A spokeswoman for Campus Apartments, which manages the properties, says a new tenant has not been slated for the spot.

Meanwhile, R House Coffee is still pending and no contract has been finalized for the spot at the northwest corner of College and Harrisburg Avenues, according to the spokeswoman.

Wood shop expands

The Rooster's Corner Woodworking Shop at Masonic Villages has expanded. The shop, where Masonic Villages residents make and sell woodworking items, has added some 1,300 square feet of space, boosting the number of work benches residents use from 30 to about 50.

The handmade items include puzzles, toys, boxes, benches and a variety of furniture.

The shop is located along Eden View Road on the campus of Masonic Villages, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown.

Hours: 8-11 a.m. Monday to Saturday and 1-3 p.m. Sunday. Phone: 367-1121, ext. 33451.
