Attempted abduction of girl in E-town

A white male, in his late 20s or early 30s, with black hair, reportedly grabbed an 11-year-old girl in the area of Peace Alley and West High Street in Elizabethtown at about 4:35 p.m. Friday.

The girl screamed and ran and the man fled on foot, police reported.

Anyone in the area at the time who can provide any further information is asked to contact the Elizabethtown police, at 367-1835.

• Two 22-year-old men were charged with giving alcohol to minors after Ephrata police responded to complaints of yelling and a loud banging noise waking other guests at a motel late Friday night.

Earl J. Root and Trevor A. Kimmel were charged after officers arrived at the room of the Scottish Inn, in the 200 block of North Reading Road, and reportedly found the men with alcohol, suspected drugs and two teenagers.

A 17-year-old Lititz boy was charged with underage drinking. He was later released to his parents. A 17-year-old Lancaster girl was also released to a family member.

Root was also charged with drug possession. He was found to have an outstanding bench warrant and was turned over the Lancaster County Sheriff's department to be committed to county prison.

Kimmel was charged and released at the motel.
