Five cars were stolen in Lancaster city and Lancaster Township on Monday night or Tuesday morning, according to police.
"Police are exploring the possibility that these thefts may be related," city police Lt. Todd Umstead said, but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday.
One of the car thefts was related to a burglary, Manheim Township police said.
A burglar or burglars forced their way into a building at Kars on King Auto Center, 1120 E. King St.
A laptop and several sets of car keys were taken, police said. One set was used to steal a 2000 Nissan Maxima from the lot.
The car later was recovered in East Lampeter Township, police said.
On the same night, two other cars were stolen in Lancaster Township.
A 2000 Honda Civic was taken from a parking lot in the 400 block of Judie Lane, police said. It was recovered nearby.
A 1995 Acura Integra was stolen from the 1700 block of Judie Lane, police said.
Two more cars were stolen in the city, police said.
A gold 1987 Honda Accord was taken from the 800 block of Hilton Drive sometime between 2 and 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Umstead said.
A red 1990 Honda Civic was stolen from the 600 block of East Frederick Street sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday, he said.
