Not all inquiries answered by Pitts
Published Feb 22, 2012 08:45

TO THE EDITORS:

I'd like to correct Andrew Wimer's statement, made in his letter, Feb. 13. He said "Congressman Joe Pitts responds to all constituent inquiries."

I asked a question of Rep. Pitts via his organizational e-mail in mid-April 2011. No answer. A month later, I asked the same question again via letter. No answer. Another month later, I again asked the same question via letter and got a reply, but it did not answer my question.

I don't consider several months to be "as promptly as possible" and I do expect actual answers instead of spin or ideology. I have copies of all letters if anyone wants to pursue my claim.

Readers of your paper should care if any statements published are accurate or not. Trust is not a trivial issue. Accuracy of statements heard should also be skeptically received unless they are shown to be factually correct or consist of opinions.
