TO THE EDITORS:

I absolutely agree with Donna Shirk's recent letter that abortion is murder.

In the fall of 1964, I became pregnant even though I had an IUD.

At the time, my obstetrician suggested I allow him to remove the IUD and that would have caused a spontaneous abortion.

I said no, if God allowed me to become pregnant it was for a reason and I would not kill our baby.

In August 1965, I gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Cathleen.

She has been nothing by an absolute joy to us and continues to be in our golden years.

God had it right and I am so thankful.
