A Megan's Law offender is in prison after city police allege he had inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old girl while she was sleeping.

Police on Feb. 8 received a report that Ismael Antonetti-Ortiz, 63, of 530 W. King St., Apt. 3, had inappropriate contact that morning with a girl who was staying at his home, city police said in a criminal complaint.

The girl had awakened at around midnight and discovered she had been touched inappropriately, lead investigator Det. Donald Morant wrote in the complaint.

The girl's mother called Ortiz later on Feb. 8 and he admitted touching the girl inappropriately, according to the complaint.

Morant charged Antonetti-Ortiz, a registered Megan's Law offender, with two counts of indecent assault and one count of corruption of minors.

On Feb. 10, detectives took Antonetti-Ortiz into custody on a warrant for the charges, police said.

He was arraigned that day by District Judge Richard Simms and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $85,000 cash bail.

Antonetti-Ortiz was previously convicted of indecent assault, according to police.
