TO THE EDITORS:
I read state Rep. Mike Sturla's letter and I think that Gov. Tom Corbett should explain why, when he was attorney general investigating the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, he was taking contributions from Sandusky's charity, Second Mile.
Is this not a conflict of interest? I think this is very inappropriate and I think it should be investigated.
Another thing that makes me angry is that as a Penn State Trustee, Gov. Corbett sat in judgment of Joe Paterno. How could he have done this knowing that he took contributions from Sandusky's charity when running for governor?
I would like to say that Joe Paterno did the right thing. If Joe Paterno had gone to the police and told them what he had heard, they would have probably told him that they wouldn't be able to do anything. Since he didn't see the sexual abuse himself, it would be heresay.
But Joe did go to the campus police and what did they do? Joe Paterno was a good man. He did the right thing. I think his name should be put back on that Big Ten trophy.
I think that Gov. Corbett should get a phone call at night and be told he is fired.
