A tractor trailer overturned on Route 222 South in West Earl Township Friday morning and slowed traffic for hours.

Joseph Davalos, 30, of Philadelphia, suffered a minor injury in the 5:11 a.m. wreck near the North Farmersville Road overpass, township police said.

The truck driver was transported to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The tractor trailer ended up on its side in the median of the highway.

It was transporting large containers of honey, and some of the product leaked out at the site, police said.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane of Route 222 were closed for a time, slowing traffic.

Later, both northbound lanes were shut down while the tractor trailer was being removed, police said. All lanes reopened to traffic by about 10:30 a.m.

The accident is still under investigation, police said.
