Knights of Columbus honor athletes

The winners of the Knights of Columbus St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 6810 Free Throw Championship were honored at an awards ceremony held during half time of the Franklin & Marshall College men's basketball game on Feb. 8.

The boys and girls, age 10 to 14, received council champion certificates and engraved plaques. The competition, which was held at Hambright Elementary School on Jan. 22, drew contestants from Lancaster, Landisville, Mount Joy, New Providence, Bainbridge, Leola and Quarryville.

 

Each of the winners also earned the right to compete in the KofC District 61 competition to be held on Feb. 26 at St. Leo the Great School in Lancaster. Winners from the district level may then move on to regional, state, national and international levels.

The winners were Kiyana McGill-Jefferson, Jeff Chant, Natalie Virts, Luca Mahoney, Mark Peterson, Sydney Dundon, Ryan Carlino, Cassandra Swope, Bethany Burton and Andrew DeBord.
