• Everything is bigger in the Super Bowl these days, including the players.

When the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl I, none of their starting offensive linemen weighed more than 250 pounds.

The New York Giants, this year's NFC champions, don't have a starting offensive lineman who weighs less than 305.

The Packers' starting offensive line on Jan. 15, 1967, from left tackle to right tackle, with height and weight as listed by the Pro Football Encyclopedia: Bob Skoronski (6-3, 249), Fuzzy Thurston (6-1, 247), Bill Curry (6-3, 235), Jerry Kramer (6-3, 245) and Forrest Gregg (6-4, 249).

The Giants' starting offensive line today: David Diehl (6-5, 304), Kevin Boothe (6-5, 320), David Baas (6-4, 312), Chris Snee (6-3, 305) and Kareem McKenzie (6-6, 330).

The offensive line's average weight: 245 for the 1966 Packers, 314 for the 2011 Giants.

• The latest average ticket price for regular-season games in the four major pro sports, according to a survey by the Team Marketing Report: $26.91 for Major League Baseball, $48.48 for the NBA, $57.10 for the NHL and $77.36 for the NFL.

The average ticket price for Super Bowl I was $12. The game, played at the Los Angeles Coliseum, didn't come close to selling out.

The face value for tickets to today's game is between $800 and $1,200. The average price on the NFL Ticket Exchange was reportedly $4,337.

• Four players from Pennsylvania colleges are on the rosters of today's Super Bowl teams.

The Giants' roster includes defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie, both from Penn State, and fullback Henry Hynoski, from Pitt.

Pitt's Lousaka Polite is a fullback for the Patriots.

• Quarterback Kevin Newsome, who transferred from Penn State before last season, will apparently resume his college career with Temple.

Newsome, from Portsmouth, Va., was 14-for-24 for 144 yards for the Nittany Lions in 2009 and 2010. He also ran 33 times for 161 yards and three touchdowns.

Newsome, who will be a redshirt junior, is expected to compete for playing time with Chris Coyer, the Owls' starter last year.

• Delaware junior Elena Delle Donne is leading the nation in scoring, with 28.4 points per game, and the Blue Hens (19-1) are ranked 12th.

Delle Donne, from Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, also averages a team-high 10 rebounds.

Delle Donne, the nation's top recruit in 2008, signed to play with powerhouse Connecticut but left soon after arriving on campus. She transferred to Delaware and played volleyball, but not basketball, in 2008-09.

She's been a star since returning to basketball in 2009-10 and was an All-America honorable mention last season.

UConn is still rolling without her. The Huskies are 21-2 and ranked third.

• Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul says Tom Brady was rushing his throws in the team's regular-season meeting, even though the pass rush really wasn't getting to him that much.

My hunch: Brady stays calm enough to get his fourth Super Bowl victory. Look for another close game between the teams. This time, Patriots 24, Giants 20.
