The search for missing kayaker Nicholas Herr moved south Saturday.

As of press time Saturday night, there were no reports that the New Providence man was found.

The search moved to Harford County, Md. after local rescue efforts last week came up empty.

Boats launched Saturday morning from Glen Cove Marina in Harford County.

Rawlinsville Fire Company, the lead agency of the search, wasn't available for updates Saturday evening.

Officials in Harford County and neighboring Cecil County (Md.) said Saturday night they weren't aware of Herr being found.

The search was to encompass the Susquehanna River from the Pennsylvania and Maryland border to the Conowingo Dam, officials said.

The 24-year-old Herr disappeared on the river late on the night of Jan. 28 while kayaking with friend Archie McConnell, also 24.

McConnell swam safely to shore.

Assisting in the search were local crews from Rawlinsville, Pequea, Paradise and Robert Fulton departments and Blue Rock Fire and Rescue.
