A Lancaster Township man was struck by gunfire Friday night while getting out of his car in Lancaster city, police said.
Jose Pons, 40, was struck in the leg in the 400 block of South Duke Street around 7:45 p.m.
Pons told investigators that he heard at least four shots when he was hit; only one round struck him.
He drove himself to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was treated.
Police said they interviewed Pons at the hospital.
There were no known witnesses to the shooting, and detectives were checking business security cameras and Lancaster Community Safety Coalition video surveillance of the area.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Lancaster city police at 735-3300.
