TO THE EDITORS:

I am referring to staff writer Larry Alexander's, "Have you seen this submachine gun?" article. The headline leads you to believe someone is running around with a fully automatic, pull-the-trigger-once-and-fire-20-bullets machine gun.

Halfway through, you learn from the Manheim Township police that it is "not fully automatic."

That means it is not a "submachine gun." It is, however, a nasty-looking pistol.

If you're going to scare people, at least get the facts straight.
