If visions of chocolate candies, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate pies, chocolate cookies and other chocolate goodies dance in your head, the place to head is the 17th annual Chocolatefest in Hershey on Sunday.

Home of the great American chocolate bar, the Hershey setting couldn't be more appropriate for this chocolate extravaganza. And for anyone feeling a twinge of remorse for the indulgence in everything chocolate, it's all guilt-free.

Chocolatefest is for a good cause, with proceeds benefiting the charity of Keystone Human Services and its non-profit agencies, which provide services for children and adults with autism, intellectual disabilities and mental illness, and which include Head Start, foster care, early intervention and Susquehanna Service Dogs.

The emcee for the day-long celebration of chocolate is Jere Gish of WGAL, who will serve as chocolate tour guide of sorts for the "Celebration of Love and Chocolate."

The highlight of Chocolatefest is the cake competition, with an exhibit of cakes decorated with flowers, hearts, patterns, designs and plenty of chocolate. Competitors include some of the area's leading bakeries, restaurants and chocolatiers.

More than 80 participants, including Matangos Candy, Giant Foods, Appalachian Brewing Company, Arooga's, Hershey Lodge, Hershey Entertainment Complex and the Hotel Hershey, will offer tastes of both chocolate and non-chocolate confections.

Music will be provided by high school jazz bands from Central Dauphin and Mechanicsburg high schools.

• In a weekend that is all about chocolate, there is also the gala ChocolateBall on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Hershey Lodge. This year's festive ball marks Keystone's 40th Anniversary and features dancing with music by NITROphonic. The ball includes a champagne raffle for fine jewelry donated by Mountz Jewelers, as well as a silent and live auctions. Tickets are $100 per person.
