Police have arrested an alleged drug dealer in Lancaster city, they said.
Officers responded at about 11 p.m. Tuesday to Mangat Mini Market, 629 W. Orange St., for a reported drug violation, city police said in a criminal complaint.
When officers asked Elizar Maldonado, 25, of the 400 block of Pershing Avenue, if they could speak to him, he tried to pass a black plastic bag to the clerk and walk out of the store, police said.
Officers seized the bag and found 33 grams of marijuana and 13 separately packaged tablets suspected to be Ecstasy pills, police said.
A box of sandwich baggies commonly used to package marijuana and a small digital scale that appeared to have marijuana residue on it were also in the plastic bag, according to police.
Maldonado was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Maldonado was arraigned before District Judge Bruce Roth and committed to Lancaster County Prison on Wednesday.
He was later released after posting $10,000 cash bail, a spokeswoman for the judge said.
