Vintage motorcycles will meet old-time trains this Friday at the Strasburg Rail Road.
The International Rally of the Vincent Motorcycle Owners Club takes place every four years and will be making a pit-stop in Strasburg on the third leg of a 15-day excursion through New York and Pennsylvania. The club is an eclectic, international group of self-proclaimed "mild" club members.
More than 75 Vincent motorcycles will be in a concourse line-up formation in the rail road parking lot beginning at 12:30 p.m. Club members and the public can view and judge the vintage motorcycles - with one bike being awarded the best of show. Vincent motorcycles are likely to cause a stir because only 12,500 bikes were produced between 1928 and 1955.
Club members will be getting a different sort of vintage ride at the rail road - trading their vintage motorcycle ride for a vintage train ride in the afternoon.
The public is invited to participate in the event. The Strasburg Rail Road is located on Route 741, a half-mile east of the center square in Strasburg.
