A 15-year-old Mountville boy was arrested on robbery, simple assault and theft charges, police reported.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Aug. 24, police were dispatched to the 300 block of East New Street in Mountville for a robbery, West Hempfield Township police said.

A 14-year-old Mountville boy said he had been walking through Lockard Park when three males approached him, police said.

One of them, the 15-year-old Mountville boy, punched the 14-year-old in the face and took money and a cellphone from him, police said.

The 14-year-old suffered pain and bruising to his face but did not require medical treatment, police said.

Police charged the 15-year-old in the incident on Friday, they said.

He was placed in juvenile detention pending court dates.

Police did not identify him because of his age.

The other two males were not charged because they were not involved in the incident, police said.
