Kelli Hodson and Lynda Johnson claimed the Lanco Ladies Better Ball Championship when the final round was washed out by heavy rain Tuesday morning.

Hodson and Johnson fired 1-under 70 in Monday's opening round at Groff's Farm Golf Club to take a three-shot lead over Brenda Acker and Tina Zuch and a five-shot lead over Nicole Fisher and Deb Landis heading into Tuesday's final round.

But steady rain Tuesday eventually led tournament officials to cancel the second round and declare the tournament a one-day event, leaving Hodson and Johnson in first place in the Championship Flight.

Other flight winners were Sharon Hurst and Deb Heisey, who took the First Flight with 75; Jamie Fiank and Joni Houck, who won the Second Flight with 80; Karen Cronauer and Judi Trace, who took the Third Flight with 82; and Tara Petrilli and Dian Martin, who claimed the Fourth Flight with 89.

The tournament was sponsored by Millersville University Student Services Inc., in honor of the late Marsha Frerichs, a former Lanco competitor.
