Highmark Blue Shield will open its first Highmark Direct retail store in Lancaster County Saturday, holding a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mill Creek Square, 2350 Lincoln Highway East.
The event will feature photos with local mascots, the opportunity to play Wii sports and giveaways.
The Lancaster Highmark Direct store will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The store will be the eighth opened by the insurance company in the state, joining others in Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.
With four employees, the store will sell health insurance and dental insurance. Consumers can do their own research on plans or speak to an agent.
The 2,600-square-foot store also will feature a classroom for health classes and an area where consumers can do health assessments.
