Appearances by NFL All-Pro Larry Fitzgerald and former Penn State running back Ki-Jana Carter will highlight The Kris Wilson Foundation's fourth annual Foundation Weekend July 8-9.

The weekend events will kick off the morning of Friday, July 8, with a golf outing at Conestoga Country Club and continue Friday evening with a Summer Gala at the Lancaster County Convention Center, where Carter will deliver the keynote address.

Fitzgerald, a star wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, will join other NFL players Saturday, July 9, to conduct the foundation's annual football camp for 11-16-year-olds.

Other players scheduled to attend the weekend events include Gerald Hayes, Arizona Cardinals starting middle linebacker; Kennard Cox, Seattle Seahawks starting cornerback; and Lousaka Polite, Miami Dolphins starting fullback.

The weekend events, hosted by San Diego Chargers tight end and former McCaskey standout Kris Wilson, will conclude Saturday afternoon with an invitation-only reception where guests will have the opportunity to mingle with Fitzgerald and other NFL players.

Invitations will be extended to Summer Gala ticket holders and to one representative of any company or organization that sponsors a hole and a foursome at the golf outing.

"Larry, Kris and the other players attending this year are true gentlemen who exemplify what the foundation stands for," said Deborah Wilson Gadsden, president and chairwoman of The Kris Wilson Foundation board of directors. "Most of them went to school together at the University of Pittsburgh and made academics a priority."

Companies and organizations can sponsor a hole and a foursome at the golf outing for $500 or just the hole for $100. The fee for individual registration is $85 and includes greens fee, cart, water and soft drinks on the course, and lunch. The round includes driving and putting contests with prizes. Registration for the 18-hole event begins at 7:30 a.m. The best-ball scramble begins with check-in at 8:30 a.m. and tee time at 9 a.m.

In addition to the address by Carter, the Summer Gala will feature presentation of the third annual Kris Wilson Football Coaching Excellence Award, which is given to a Lancaster County high school head football coach who best exemplifies the vision of The Kris Wilson Foundation.

This year's recipient is McCaskey head coach Robert Monzon.

The gala also includes a reception where attendees can mingle with NFL players and get autographs; a sit-down dinner and program; and silent and live auctions featuring signed sports memorabilia from stars of the NFL, Major League Baseball and other sports, as well as gift certificates, tickets to sporting events, and other items; and dancing. Tickets for the gala are $75 per person.

Tickets for the Summer Gala and the golf outing can be purchased by calling 866-827-2159 ext. 3, or sending an email to gadsden_deb@kriswilsonfoundation.org.

This year's camp, at McCaskey High School, will be attended free of charge by youth selected through community centers and community organizations that are partners with The Kris Wilson Foundation in delivering its literacy program. The camp will include a half day of instruction, a bowling party with the NFL players, and a book giveaway/essay contest.

Updated information about all of the events and sponsorship opportunities during the 2011 Foundation Weekend events is available on the Foundation's web site, kriswilsonfoundation.org.
