Owners of Tanglewood Manor Golf Club in East Drumore Township want to change the location of a solar project, only weeks after having been given approval by township supervisors.
Accordingly, supervisors will hold a special hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, and probably agree to reopen testimony and evidence.
After a hearing May 3, supervisors granted Tanglewood Manor a conditional-use permit to build the solar panels, which will cover an area 436 feet by 86 feet.
The land is zoned agriculture and is at the edge of the driving range in the 800 block of Scotland Road.
The electricity would be used to power the golf course and driving range, with surplus sold for profit.
In granting the permit, supervisors imposed a number of conditions and seemed concerned about approving what could be partly a commercial venture on land zoned for agriculture.
Now, Tanglewood owner Dwight Wagner wants to install the solar panels at a different location, closer to the driving range, according to J. Dwight Yoder, township solicitor.
At the June 9 meeting, supervisors will consider reopening the conditional-use process. If they do, the supervisors will begin the hearing.
The hearing will be held at the township office at 1246 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville.
