A man brandishing a handgun robbed a restaurant in Columbia, police reported.

The robber entered the Dairy Queen at 1624 Lancaster Ave. on Saturday at 10 p.m., which is the restaurant's closing time, Columbia Borough police said.

He ordered employees to lie on the floor while he forced one employee to give him cash from the register, police said.

The man fled on foot, possibly toward Oak Hollow Road, with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

He is described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 180 pounds, police said. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. A red bandanna covered his face.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 684-7735. Tipsters also can call Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-1913.
