He dazzled fans through three episodes of a shooting competition, but it all came to an end Tuesday night for local marksman Jermaine Finks.

Known as "The Fed" on Season 2 of History Channel's "Top Shot," Finks was eliminated after last week's team challenge.

Finks is a federal agent and firearms instructor with the Department of Homeland Security.

"It was a total embarrassment. I blame myself," Finks said.

For the challenge, contestants had to run an uphill relay race with four shooting stations and targets. Each team split into three pairs, with each player in a pair shooting one target and spotting the other.

Once a pair completed a station, the next pair ran up from the starting line to get the rifle and move to the next station. The pair from the first station had to shoot the fourth one to destroy an ammunition dump.

In a shocking mistake, Finks put his team in jeopardy.

He got confused. Instead of staying with his partner in their bunker waiting for the second team to come to them, Finks went running up the hill, rifle in hand.

"I just got into a battle mode when I was in the foxhole," Finks said.

"It was a mixture of not following the directions to the letter and being military trained to never give up my weapon," he said.

Then it happened again.

"The second flub was a misjudgment on my part as to thinking the third empty foxhole position was the last one we were supposed to move to," said the Manor Township resident.

"I got into the zone. I was full of adrenaline and I wanted to get to the top of that hill. I made a huge error," Finks said.

Finks lost the elimination challenge against a golf instructor from California.
