State police have charged six Elizabethtown College students with illegally selling alcohol at their off-campus homes.
Two of them are basketball players for the school, and two play on its lacrosse team.
Bradley Daniel Gallagher, 22, of Lansdale, Bryan Edward Harrity, 21, of Warrington, Justin Michael Warner, 21, of Millerstown, and Brady Daniel Haughney, 22, of Bernville, allegedly sold beer to an undercover officer at 37 W. College Ave., Elizabethtown, on Jan. 29, state police Sgt. Mark J. Crossan of the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said.
Shakir Chike Ruelto Saunders, 22, of Bethesda, Md., and Sean William O'Neill, 21, of West Chester, allegedly did the same at 704 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, on the same day, Crossan said.
"They had keg parties at both locations," he said. "We were notified by Elizabethtown police because they've had various issues with these locations throughout the school year."
All six are Elizabethtown College students, Lori Burke, the college's director of communications, confirmed.
Harrity and Haughney are on the school's basketball team, according to the college's website. Saunders and O'Neill play on the lacrosse team.
Charges of selling alcohol without a license were filed Thursday against the six students before District Judge Jayne F. Duncan, police said.
Each will have a hearing to determine if he faces any penalties from the college, Burke said.
The basketball and lacrosse coaches have already "taken actions" against the players for their alleged involvement in the incidents, Burke said. She declined to divulge the actions and would not say if any of the players face game suspensions.
Both Harrity and Haughney played in Tuesday night's game against Lebanon Valley College. Harrity started and had seven points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes. Haughney was scoreless in six minutes off the bench.
Harrity and Haughney were two of the six players honored on Senior Night.
