Police seek 3 suspects in 4 store burglaries

Police are looking for at least three suspects in connection with burglaries of four businesses in East Earl, Earl and Brecknock townships.

The burglars smashed the stores' glass with rocks and stole candy, money, chips, lottery tickets, cigarettes and bottles of liquor, state police said. All four burglaries occurred within a few hours of each other, early on Aug. 19.

Burglars struck the Wine & Spirits Store in the New Holland Shopping Center, 681 W. Main St., in Earl Township, police said. A suspect was described as a black male who is tall, with a thin build. He wore a "do-rag" on his head, a white T-shirt and black pants.

The other burglaries were at the Horst Farm Market, 582 Reading Road, East Earl; Phoenix Woodworking, 211 Reading Road, East Earl; and the Sunoco gas station at 1155 Reading Road, Bowmansville, police said. Police released a surveillance video photo taken at the Sunoco gas station.

State police in Ephrata ask anyone with information to call Trooper Chad Roberts at 721-7667 (option No. 3).
