Eric Cuff, 18, of the 1100 block of East King Street, drove through a red light at North Franklin and East Chestnut streets at about 1:40 a.m. today, Officer Rick Mendez said.
Cuff drove through a second red light at North Franklin and East Walnut Street, and then sped away, said Mendez who pursued the fleeing car with Officer David Rachor.
Cuff had three passengers, all believed to be juveniles, in his car. The pursuit lasted just about two minutes, ending when all the occupants “bailed out’’ of the car at South Plum and East Mifflin streets, police said.
Cuff drove abut 55 mph, but there were no accidents during the brief pursuit. Police said Cuff is being charged with fleeing-eluding police, driving without a license, reckless driving, and multiple other traffic citations.
Brandon B. Fullmer, Lancaster, was trying to get away from Southern Regional police on Pennsy Road in Pequea Township at about 11 p.m. Friday, Lancaster state police said.
Fullmer was heading east and drove into Providence Township. His automobile crossed double yellow center lines in the 700 block of Pennsy Road near Smithville and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Holly Ann Wanger, of New Providence, troopers said.
Neither driver was injured. After the crash, Fullmer turned around and traveled west on Pennsy Road until his car broke down, police said.
Fullmer was apprehended and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, fleeing-eluding police, recklessly endangering another person, and a hit-and-run violation, troopers said.
A motorist from Michigan fled after he allegedly caused a crash with an injury early today at North Lime and East Orange streets, Lancaster police said.
Officers arrested Julian Dwayne Johns, 30, of Waterford, Mich., about 20 minutes after the 12:05 a.m crash, Officer David Hershiser said.
Johns drove a Dodge Caravan through a red light at the intersection, causing a collision with a car driven by a 19-year-old woman, Hershiser said.
Johns fled the scene without rendering any aid to the woman, who was injured and treated at a local hospital, police said. Officer Jason Zahm found the Michigan man trying to hide in bushes in the 400 block of East Grant Street.
Johns is being charged with several hit-and-run violations plus a red-light violation and driving with a suspended license, police said.
