Fire damaged a Rapho Township barn Tuesday.

The barn at 977 Garfield Road suffered, "at maximum," $20,000 in damages, said Mount Joy Fire Chief Buddy Hess. The barn is owned by Paul Newcomer.

The fire began in the attic area of the 120-by-30-foot metal barn, Hess said. How the blaze began is still undetermined.

The fire was contained quickly, Hess said.

"We had it under control within 15 minutes of the first arriving engine," he said.
