A city resident allegedly assaulted police officers in Lancaster Township early Wednesday morning.

Manheim Township police responded to the Turkey Hill Minit Market at 936 Columbia Ave. for a report that an employee was being harassed at 12:30 a.m., police said.

Police found Omar Chavajay-Tzina, 25, of 120 E. Chestnut St., and Antonio Coo-Sol, 23, of 22 S. West End Ave., intoxicated in the parking lot, police said. Both were taken into custody for public drunkenness.

Police said the two men were illegal immigrants from Guatemala.

Federal immigration officials were notified but did not respond to take them into custody, police said.

Coo-Sol was released and taken home, but Chavajay-Tzina became disorderly and was taken into custody, police said. In the process, he struggled with and kicked police officers, but no injuries resulted.

Chavajay-Tzina faces charges of aggravated assault, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, police said. He was arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
