Lois Herr, Democratic nominee for the 16th Congressional District seat, will embark on a two-week tour of the district during which she will make more than 30 appearances at area businesses.
"We're going to places where ordinary neighborhood-type people congregate," her campaign press contact, Chuck Crouse, said.
This week, Herr will visit Elizabethtown, Lancaster, East Lampeter, New Holland, Mountville, Columbia, Strasburg, Quarryville, Mount Joy, Lititz, Ephrata and Adamstown.
The times of the candidate's arrivals are not yet known, Crouse said.
A resident of Elizabethtown, Herr will begin the tour this morning at the Lancaster Amtrak station.
She will proceed to City Line Diner on Manheim Pike and then to Jennie's Diner on Route 30 East.
Tuesday's stops will include New Holland Rotary, Central Market in Lancaster, George's Restaurant in Mountville and Hinkle's Pharmacy in Columbia.
On Wednesday, Herr will visit George Street Cafe in Millersville, Strasburg Country Store and Quarryville Family Restaurant.
She will visit Mount Joy Diner and Cafe Chocolate in Lititz on Thursday.
Herr will wrap up the first week of her tour Friday with visits to the Ephrata Diner and Green Dragon.
Crouse said that Herr used to own a farm and would visit the open-air market to buy and sell farm equipment.
"She has a warm spot in her heart for (Green Dragon)," he said.
Next week, Herr will make more stops in Lancaster, Chester and Berks counties, Crouse said. He didn't know where those stops would be, and he was still scouting locations. But the week likely will see Herr in Oxford, West Marlborough, Reading, Columbia, Manheim, Lancaster, Elizabethtown, Lititz, East Earl, Leola, Kennett Square, Cochranville, Avondale, Salunga and Wernersville.
Crouse said the stops will be "low-key" and won't resemble campaign rallies. A goal is to have voters compare the public accessibility of Herr and her Republican rival, Rep. Joe Pitts.
"She wants to get out and talk with people and hear what their concerns are," Crouse said.
