A Gordonville man has been charged with possessing and producing child pornography.

Chadwick E. Mellinger, 41, of 247-A Old Leacock Road, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Isaac Stoltzfus and was released after posting $5,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Mellinger had 52 images and movie files on his home computer, depicting children under the age of 18 engaged in real or simulated sexual acts.

He also allegedly manufactured child pornography by photographing a young female.

The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered the images on Mellinger's computer in April while searching for individuals engaged in distributing child pornography over the Internet.

On May 12, police executed a search warrant on Mellinger's home and seized his personal computer, recordable discs and photographs. Police also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

After examination of the seized computer and electronic files, Mellinger was charged with 52 counts of sexual abuse of children and possession of marijuana.
