Three people are in jail following raids by local police and drug enforcement officers earlier this week.
On Wednesday, detectives of the Lancaster County District Attorney's Drug Task Force, Manheim Township police and Lancaster city police arrested Francisco Vazquez-Galarza, 23, and Marianela Osorio-Cruz, 23, both of 1052 Sterling Place, Lancaster Township.
Searching the house, police said they discovered 420 bags of heroin stamped "Too Strong" with an estimated street value of $4,200, a 40-caliber Glock handgun loaded with 12 rounds of hollow-point ammunition and approximately $1,840 in cash.
They also seized a 2005 Dodge Magnum.
Police said the arrests were the result of a six-month investigation, during which time drug enforcement agents visited the house and purchased heroin.
Vazquez-Galarza and Osorio-Cruz were both charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and criminal conspiracy before District Judge Mary Mongiovi Sponaugle.
Both suspects were committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $1 million bail each.
Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the recovered handgun.
On Thursday, drug task force officers arrested Nasario Lupian-Rivera, 19, of 48 S. Lime St., Apt. 3, and charged him with possession of cocaine.
In Lupian-Rivera's apartment, police said they discovered approximately seven grams of crack cocaine, packaged in 18 individual packets, a loaded Taurus PT738 380-caliber semi-automatic handgun and drug paraphernalia, including a digital gram scale, numerous small plastic bags, a razor blade, approximately four grams of marijuana and $328 in cash.
Detectives had been investigating Lupian-Rivera for the past six months, police said, and undercover detectives had purchased crack cocaine at his apartment.
When officers approached him outside his residence Thursday, Lupian-Rivera fled up a fire escape and entered an apartment by breaking through a window, police said. He was arrested inside his apartment, where police found the handgun on him. A check revealed that the gun was reported stolen in Lancaster on Feb. 2.
Lupian-Rivera was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, carrying an unlicensed firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
He was arraigned before District Judge Stuart J. Mylin and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
