23-year-old man stabbed in Lancaster city

Lancaster police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday near South Prince and West Vine streets.

Police were dispatched to the area at about 5:45 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of a large fight and a stabbing. Upon arrival they learned the victim had been driven to Lancaster General Hospital in a private vehicle.

The 23-year-old city man suffered a serious single stab wound to his lower right abdomen, police said. He underwent emergency surgery and was later listed in stable condition.

Police ask that anyone with information call city police at 735-3300. Callers do not have to leave their names to provide information.
