Police investigate burglaries in city, East Petersburg

Police are investigating burglaries in the city and East Petersburg earlier this week.

An apartment was burglarized in the 300 block of Lancaster Avenue between 1 and 11 p.m. on Monday, city police said.

Two portable DVD players and two iPods were stolen, police said. Total loss was $1,800.

A separate burglary occurred in the first block of West Farnum Street between 5 and 8 p.m. on Monday, city police said. A $300 PlayStation gaming system was taken.

Entry in both burglaries was made through unlocked rear windows, with a screen being pushed in in one case, police said.

A home in the 2000 block of Linden Street in East Petersburg was entered on Monday and CDs worth $480 were taken, Manheim Township police reported.

Also, a 32-inch television valued at $700 and $300 in change were taken from a home in the 600 block of West Lemon Street on Sunday, city police said.
