The suspects displayed no weapons during the approximate 11 a.m. robbery. When a cashier opened the cash register for a customer, one of the men came around the customer, reached into the register, and grabbed an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The man and an accomplice then fled from the store. They were last seen running across North Queen Street toward the first block of East Clay Street, police said.

Nobody was injured. One of the suspects was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s who was about 6-foot to-6-foot-2 with a medium to heavy build. The other suspect was described as a Hispanic or white man in his 30s, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot, with a medium build, a mustache, and a goatee, police said.

Several other theft crimes remain under investigation by area police, and one of the incidents involved the loss of $2,175 worth of jewelry at an East Lampeter Townshp motel.

Alana Jean Favaloro, of Norwich, N.Y., near Binghamton, told East Lampeter police that while she was staying at the Italian Villa Motel, 2331 Lincoln Highway East, last weekend, an unknown person stole a red bag from her suitcase.

The bag contained assorted jewelry valued at $2,175. The theft was reported to police at 9:11 a.m. Sunday.

Jewelry items also were reported stolen from the home of Shirley Fantom, 60, of the 1400 block of Tanning Yard Hollow Road, Peach Bottom.

State police said thieves entered the woman’s East Drumore Township home between Sept. 3 and Sept. 17 and stole the jewelry from a kitchen cabinet.

Also reporting losses to thieves were:
  • Ronald Rottmund, 1900 block of William Penn Way. Burglars broke into his home between Thursday and Saturday and stole a .357 Rugar revolver from a closet along with a plastic water jug containing change, East Lampeter Townshp police said. The total loss was $450.
  • Melissa McClune, Lancaster. She was working at Applebee’s restaurant, 2321 Lincoln Highway East, Friday night when someone entered her car in the parking lot and stole her purse, East Lampeter Township police said. The total loss was $555.
  • Trudy Connelly, who owns Heavenly Soaps & Scents, 37 E. Main St., Lititz. A $65 quilt was stolen from the store sometime on Saturday, Lititz police said.

The 50-by-60 inch quilt was on display and had been hanging over the front door of the store. It had a cream-colored background with fall leaves around the edge and a solid square tan pattern around the inside, police said.
  • Teresa Ann Katzara, 59, of Piscataway, N.J., and Peggy Lou Miller, 63, Millersburg, Ohio, who had their 2005 vehicles parked at the Revere Tavern, 3063 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise.

Suspects smashed windows of the women’s vehicles between 7:45 and 9 p.m. Friday, Lancaster state police said, and took a new Craftsman laser level that was on the back seat of Katzara’s Ford Explorer.
  • Officials of J.R. Roofing, 2500 block of Horseshoe Road. A 93-pound roll of copper roofing material, valued at $758, was stolen from the firm on Thursday, East Lampeter Township police learned.
