Man seen running from suburb home, gun missing

A black male in his 20s wearing a white tank top and jeans was seen running from an occupied home in the 300 block of Butler Avenue in Manheim Township at 3:09 p.m. on Monday.

The man was spotted by an officer at a store on Butler Avenue and fled behind the Lancaster Shopping Center, township police said. He was not located.

Police said a handgun was missing from the home.

A man fitting the description also walked into an occupied home in the 800 block of Salisbury Court in Manheim Township at 2:51 p.m. the same day, police said. When confronted by the homeowner, he fled on foot. Nothing was taken.

Police also reported the following:

A burglary occurred at a vacant apartment in the 900 block of Sterling Place in Lancaster Township sometime between Thursday and Saturday. About $650 worth of damage was done inside, police said.

Someone tried to pry open the rear door of the David King Masonry business at 5541 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, at about 1 a.m. on Sunday. The burglar fled without taking anything when an alarm sounded, state police in Ephrata said.

A male and a female entered a quilt shop in the 700 block of Stone Hill Road in Denver on June 9 and stole cash, state police in Ephrata said.
