Lancaster Barnstormers' mascot Cylo will have his own "man cave" down the left-field line at Clipper Magazine Stadium for this year's season, which kicks off Friday night with a game against the York Revolution.

When not cow-footing it through the crowd, polishing the heads of bald men or being greeted by adoring youngsters this summer, Cylo will occupy the Home Depot Autograph Barn for up to an inning at the minor-league team's 70 home games.

The autograph barn is just one of several new attractions in store at "the Clip" this summer.

Others include three new inflatables in left field for kids, including a giant slide; a new Hess's barbecue pit in right field; and new wrinkles involving the on-field "Fun Patrol," including new costumed characters and on-field events.

Like Cylo, I.M. Fun, the team's energy-filled between-innings and pregame host, is back for 2010.

Barnstormers' general manager Vince Bulik said the new attractions are "going to be different … and that's part of the excitement, when you bring back the familiar but also bring in new things.

"A lot of things are different, and hopefully, they are going to get people's attention," he said.

Fans in 2010 also should keep an eye out for people sporting colored wristbands — and do not attempt to stop them as they head toward the ballpark's concession stands. The wristbands are part of an all-you-can-eat ticket promotion.

Fans who purchase the $15 ticket will receive a wristband (each day of the week has its own color) allowing them several unlimited food items and a field box seat.

"I think it's going to be a good thing for families, and if we can get the word out to college students, it's going to be a good thing for them, too," Marketing and Community Relations Manager Emily Reinbold said.

The bottomless food items at the ballpark include hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas, popcorn and nachos. "Your ballpark favorites … you can't go wrong," Reinbold said.

Ticket vouchers can be bought at any Turkey Hill Minit Market. The vouchers can be redeemed at the ballpark.

The team, with an eye on the economy, also is offering brand-new value meals this summer, featuring an entrée with fries and a drink for prices ranging from $6.50 to $8.50, with a savings of $3 to $4.25 off the regular price.

The Clip also welcomes food concession firm Legends Hospitality Management, which has concessions at Yankee Stadium and the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.

Team officials say popular items from past years, from Kunzler hot dogs and Hess's turkey and pork sandwiches to Turkey Hill ice cream and Auntie Anne's pretzels, will be back.

Game ticket prices range from $5 and $7 in the outfield lawn seats to $10 for field boxes and $12 for dugout box seats.

Some tickets were remaining as of late Wednesday for Friday's home opener, versus the York Revolution, with the first pitch set for 7:15 p.m.

The home opener will feature a slew of special activities, including:

A special "Code Red," in which fans are encouraged to wear red.

The 2010 theme is "Storming Red," and the team Friday will hand out red T-shirts to the first 2,000 fans 16 and older.

A pregame concert, starting at 5 p.m. outside the ballpark along Prince Street, featuring the cover band the Fabulous Cheese Brothers and Sisters.

Inside the ballpark, activities range from a pre-game "Barnstormers On Deck" show featuring manager Tom Herr, radio broadcaster Dave Collins and player Jed Morris to entertainment by the "'Storming Red Rockers," known around Hersheypark as the "Cocoa Rhythm Factory" percussion show.

There also will be pregame on-field ceremonies, and the first pitch will be thrown out by Robert Keck of Mountville, a World War II veteran who was at the Battle of the Bulge.

After the game will be the first of 18 fireworks displays for 2010, and after the pyrotechnics, fans will be invited onto the field to mingle with fellow fans.

The opening weekend continues with games against York on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

And this weekend's weather forecast looks great for baseball, with Friday's high temperature expected to be around 80 degrees, with lots of sunshine.
