An unsolved Lancaster city homicide case will be featured Saturday on the television show "America's Most Wanted."

Juan DeJesus Lopez was shot and killed on Dec. 5, 2007, at the J&R Check Cashing business he and his wife owned and operated at 305½ E. King St.

More information is needed to solve the case, police said. They're still trying to find witnesses or others who might have information.

Recently, representatives from "America's Most Wanted" met with city police, and a crew shot footage for the segment, police said.

The six-minute piece will air on the Fox network at 9 p.m., according to Tom Morris, the show's senior correspondent who reported the story.

Morris said he interviewed Juan Lopez's wife, Raquel, and the general manager of the WLCH radio station for the story. Juan Lopez was frequently a guest on the radio station.

On Saturday, city police Detective George Bonilla will travel to "America's Most Wanted" studio in Washington, D.C., and will be in its call center during the airing of the episode, police said. Bonilla will help answer calls from tipsters and follow up on leads generated by the television show.

Police previously reported that two young men, one of them light-skinned, were involved in the shooting. According to a witness, they spoke Spanish.

The two shot Lopez in the left arm during the robbery attempt, police said.

The victim's family said Lopez bled to death.

Police have also enlisted the help of Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers to help generate leads in the case. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

Police ask that local residents watch the show and call Bonilla at 735-3352 or the Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-1913 if they have any information about the killing. Callers do not have to give their names.
