River searched after empty car found on Rt. 30 bridge

Rescue teams searched the Susquehanna River overnight after an abandoned car was found on the Route 30 bridge in Columbia, police said.
A white Volkswagen was found on the bridge with its engine running and emergency flashers operating at about 11:30 p.m., West Hempfield Township police said.
Water rescue crews and a state police helicopter searched the area but did not find anyone, police said. Officials will decide later whether to search again today.
